Would you do it? Would you run off to an inn in the middle of nowhere just to have a private tête-à-tête with your pen and thoughts?
Allow me to start from the beginning.
From the moment I set foot on Scotland's enchanting soil in 2017, something somewhere whispered, "You'll be back." And guess what? I kept that promise to myself and made my triumphant return in 2022 while crafting the pages of The Twin Flame, book II of The Scottish Scrolls.
Andy and I embarked on a quest along the Eastern coast, explored the mysterious Orkney Isles in the north, and couldn't resist stopping by a few ridiculously charming villages on our way back to the bustling heartbeat that is Glasgow.
Now, at this point, I had already traipsed through the west, meandered through most of the east, and wandered through the cities and towns nestled inland—Perth's charm and Inverness's lively spirit etched fond memories in my heart.
But hold your bagpipes, because I wasn't done yet. Oh no, not by a long shot.
I felt the usual magnetic pull, a desperate need to return with a whole new agenda. Scratch that, a non-agenda. I longed to retreat here to write, for there's truly nowhere else in the world that sparks my inspiration and lifts my spirits quite like bonny Scotland.
And here I go again...this time, on my own.
🏘️ My unbelievably cozy stay
I'll be bunking at a wonderfully cozy inn by my favourite loch in Scotland, Loch Lomond. All I wanted was views, views, views—and good food, of course. Mission accomplished! 🥧 BONUS: Apparently, my hometown-away-from-home roasts their own coffee beans! As a coffee enthusiast, I think this has me the most excited.
📚 Follow my journey from Feb 4-10!
If you're a writer, then you know that being left alone with your thoughts for too long can be a harrowing experience. I don't know whether I'll be rejoicing at the solitude and time I get to focus on writing OR whether I'll be balling my eyes out from the pressure of being productive...because it's time to get cracking on book III, yes?
👇 Here's where my writing sanctuary will be
Here's to the joy of rediscovery, the thrill of the unknown, and the magic that happens when you let your heart guide your journey. 🍻
Stay tuned for more tales from and about Scotland, where the adventure never truly ends.
Wish me luck! 🤞
And as always, stay weird.
